Create Your Own Study or Interest Group
Don’t see a group that appeals to you? Want to join a group but it is already full? Never fear! We encourage members to create their own Groups Almost any fun or interesting activity can form the basis of a new Study or Interest Group. We’ll help you get started by working with you to promote your new group in the newsletter. Before you know it, you’ll be meeting with new friends and sharing laughs, skills, and ideas!

ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT

PLAY READING

Try out your best theatrical voice by reading plays out loud together and sharing snacks and conversation. We read a variety of plays supplied by the AAUW chapter in San Clemente, CA. Usually, we read one play over two months. New members are welcome. An email will be sent to members prior to the meeting listing where we are meeting and what play is to be read.

MOVIE GROUP

The Movie Group meets in the afternoons at the Varsity
Theatre in Ashland. The selected movie and time will be
announced by email We meet in the lobby ten minutes
before the movie begins and we often discuss the film at the Elk’s Lodge afterwards.

Work together on your individual hand projects while sharing conversation and fellowship.

OUT TO LUNCH

Join this NEW Interest Group with friends for an
afternoon of lunch and conversation. A different restaurant will
be selected each month.

INTERNATIONAL DINING

NEW Interest Group to enjoy and learn about International Cuisine. Each month a new restaurant will be selected along with relevant book and movie suggestions. These will be provided in advance of each outing to help inform group members about the cuisine and get into the mood.

POTLUCK DINNERS

Get together four to six times a year to share fellowship, good conversation and a yummy potluck dinner. New members welcome.

BRAIN BOOKS

How does social change happen? Why are we polarized? Learn about the lesser-known history of eastern Oregon. Read about and explore social, historical, and philosophical questions such as these and more.

FRIENDSHIP CIRCLES

A wonderful way to get to know one another. Small groups of 4-6 meeting in each other homes, cafe, winery or the park. Each member talks about themselves, their interests, hobbies and plans. Groups choose day and time to get together so each member has a chance to share with the others.
