In 2014 AAUW Ashland received an extremely generous contribution for $100,000 to the AAUW Ashland Endowment Fund at Southern Oregon University (SOU) from the Axelrod/Shih Family Trust. It was their wish that a scholarship from some of the annual earnings of this fund be given to a qualifying student attending SOU. This scholarship would bear their name.
The AAUW Ashland board established our Named Scholarship Program in 2016. Anyone making a contribution of $50,000 or more to the AAUW Ashland Endowment Fund at Southern Oregon University (SOU) would then have a scholarship bearing their name in perpetuity
In 2018 Kate and Jim Wolf-Pizor made a contribution to the SOU AAUW Ashland Endowment Fund for $50,0000. Their named scholarship is named Kate and Jim Wolf-Pizor family.
These scholarships will be presented to an eligible student attending SOU at our Celebration of Scholars event scheduled for Wednesday, May 22nd,2019 5:30 to 8:30 at the SOU Rogue River Room. Currently we have two named scholarships, Judy Yin Shih and Kate and Jim Wolf-Pizor family.
